Glimpses of exotic Mediterranean landscapes, views of the surrounding mountain ranges and sun-drenched Merano: the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle bring together over 80 natural and cultivated landscapes, a variety of themed gardens, and numerous artists’ pavilions and interactive stations within a natural amphitheatre. South Tyrol’s most popular and multi-award-winning destination delights visitors with its unique blend of nature, culture and art. In recognition of their pioneering role in garden tourism and their innovative spirit, the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle were named ‘International Garden of the Year’ in 2013.

The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle have several large visitor car parks (with reserved spaces for people with disabilities and an accessible bus stop for line 4 at the main entrance). In the entrance area, there is also a wheelchair hire service offering both manual and electric wheelchairs, which can be borrowed free of charge on request. For visitors with reduced mobility, there is a recommended shorter tour. However, due to the gardens’ hillside location, the assistance of an accompanying person is advisable for manual wheelchairs. Stairs and gradients exceeding 8% are specifically marked on the site map. The restaurant and toilet facilities are also accessible.
