Sport fishing Sandhof
The fishing pond in the popular recreation area near the Sandwirt inn in St. Leonhard in the Passeier Valley is managed by the local fishing club. This well-maintained recreational area is open to everyone and is especially geared towards families with children and seniors.
With a day ticket available on site, you are allowed to catch four fish. Visitors don't need a fishing license or any prior experience. After a short briefing, you'll receive a fishing rod and bait (earthworms or maggots), and you're ready to go. Right next to the fishing pond, there's also a great children's playground and several picnic tables. A true nature experience for everyone – tight lines!
Rating: Very high accessibility
The Sandwirt fishing pond has a large visitor parking area (ground surface: grass pavers, no reserved parking spaces). A short, level access path and subsequent terrace lead to the cozy fishing hut: The bar area, the adjacent south-facing terrace overlooking the pond, and the restrooms (with a changing table for infants) are all fully accessible.
The entire outdoor area, including the fishing pond and children's playground, is largely level and accessible via a well-maintained lawn (no paved walkway). Several fishing spots with seating are located around the pond.

Note: The parking lot is located below the Passeier/Sandwirt Museum and has grass grid paving stones as its surface.
