At the Museum Ladin Ursus ladinicus, visitors are immersed in the world of the cave bear. The museum traces the formation of the Dolomites, showcasing beautiful fossils characteristic of the San Cassiano area, before recounting the formation and discovery of the cave where the prehistoric bear was found. Furthermore, through the display of original artefacts, all aspects of the cave bear’s environment and life are explained.

The Museum Ladin Ursus ladinicus is located near the Church of San Cassiano in the pedestrian zone. From the visitor car park at the entrance to the village, the museum can be reached via a steep access road (12% gradient). Visitors with reduced mobility are therefore advised to park on Strada Micurà de Rü, where there is a car park reserved for them. The museum tour begins on the ground floor and extends across several levels, all served by a modern lift (110 x 110 cm). The basement houses the history of the cave bear (uneven artificial stone flooring), a screening room and an accessible toilet (3.5 cm threshold). The exhibition on the first floor is entirely dedicated to the Dolomites.
