The starting point is also easily accessible via the accessible Vinschgerbahn railway (Merano–Mals), although it is advisable to check in advance as not every train stops at this small station in Staben.
Description
From platform 2, which is easily accessible via an underpass with two spacious lifts, we head east and reach the cycle path to Naturns via a ramp. After about 150 metres, near the Radbar (a place to stop for refreshments; accessibility not verified), there is an information pillar that clearly describes the cycle path. The path continues at a very leisurely pace until we cross a bridge with a bumpy wooden surface. Surrounded by nature, the path leads us on to a bridge with a pedestrian crossing where we cross the Adige; there is also a tourist information stand with a telephone there. We now continue our walk along the footpath (with an unpaved surface) on the left bank of the river, running parallel to the cycle path. This pleasant route is perfect for a leisurely stroll, and the numerous seating areas invite you to linger by the cool riverbank. After about 1 km, we come to another bridge, which we cross via the pedestrian crossing, then turn right towards Naturns railway station to catch the train back to the starting point.
