Nestled among orchards and vineyards at the entrance to Tirolo, Burglehen Park offers a pleasant flat walk around a natural pond, featuring a stunning 360° panoramic view and the famous steel horse sculpture "Jakob" by artist Franz Messner.

Reachability

The park is located at the entrance to the village of Tirolo. By car, you can park at the Schöpf car park (equipped with reserved parking spaces for people with disabilities) or near Bar Tennis. For those using public transport, take bus line 221 (Merano - Tirolo) and get off at the stop at the entrance to the village, located in the immediate vicinity of the park.

Description

Am Ortseingang von Dorf Tirol lädt der Burglehenpark seit 2002 zum Verweilen, Entspannen und Spielen ein. Der Park, inmitten von Obstwiesen und Weinreben gelegen, bietet einen herrlichen 360°-Panorama-Ausblick auf die Umgebung.

Die Parkgestalter setzten bei der Planung ganz bewusst auf Natürlichkeit. So liegt im Zentrum des Parks ein Naturteich umrundet von Sitzbänken, die ursprüngliche Blumenwiese blieb erhalten und der Park selbst liegt inmitten von Obstwiesen und Weinäckern.

Der Spielplatz ist die Heimat eines ganz besonderen Wesens: Das stählerne Pferd Jakob gilt manchem als geheimes Wahrzeichen von Dorf Tirol. Konstruiert hat es der Rittner Künstler Franz Messner, der vielen durch sein Knottnkino am Rotsteinkogel auf dem Hochplateau Vöran bekannt ist.
