Una piacevole passeggiata su una strada asfaltata attraverso il pittoresco villaggio di montagna di St. Jakob. L'elemento paesaggistico più caratteristico di St. Jakob è l'imponente Bühel (una frana proveniente dalla valle del Bärental), su cui troneggia la chiesa dedicata a San Giacomo, visibile da lontano. L'edificio in stile tardo gotico risale al 1500 e si distingue per i suoi arredi neogotici. Il paese ha conservato a lungo il carattere di un insediamento rurale sparso, il che gli conferisce un fascino particolare.

Non adatto alle sedie a rotelle manuali a causa della lunga salita costante lungo il percorso.

By public transport: From Brunico railway station, take the number 450 bus (Brunico – Tures – Valle Aurina) to the Wollbachgisse stop (partially accessible) in San Giacomo, then walk for 10 minutes to the start of the trail.

By car, take the A22 Brenner motorway to the Brixen/Pustertal exit and continue through the Puster Valley to Bruneck. Then follow the signs towards the Ahrntal valley and take the main road through the valley to St. Jakob im Ahrntal. At the junction by the “Kreuzwirt” pizzeria, turn left and park in the car park there (no reserved parking spaces for people with disabilities).

From the car park, we turn right and, after a few metres, cross the road to the left. The pavement runs only on the left-hand side of the road and, due to a 4 cm high kerb, is not fully accessible. For this reason, you can also stay on the quiet local road, Am Bühel. We then follow the road downhill for 50 metres, with a gradient of 5–7%. We continue along the tarmac village road, which has a moderate gradient of 5–6% and undulates slightly. We pass various farmsteads and a bench. After crossing the bridges over the Hollenzbach and Steinerbach streams, the path descends for 20 metres at a 10% gradient to another bench. The main road is in the immediate vicinity, where the Kordiler bus stop is located.
