Brach - Enneberg
Enneberg is a small village with around 700 inhabitants, situated on the western flank of Kronplatz. The parish church of Enneberg is the oldest in the valley and is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. This pleasant walk takes us to Brach and is an ideal way to escape the hustle and bustle of the main tourist resort. The restaurants in Enneberg offer excellent traditional and regional cuisine.
Reachability
This panoramic walking trail runs from Enneberg to Brach and back again. Enneberg can be reached via the Brenner motorway (Brixen exit) and then through the Puster Valley. Shortly before St. Lorenzen, we turn right into the Gadertal (Val Badia) and drive to Zwischenwasser, where we turn left towards St. Vigil in Enneberg. From there, continue towards Kronplatz on the Plan de Corones road for approx. 2.5 km until the junction with the La Pli road, which we follow for a further approx. 1.5 km.Description
Our walk begins at the reserved car park in front of the Raiffeisenkasse in the village of Enneberg. From here, we turn right and follow the road downhill, initially at an 8% gradient. In front of the primary school, there is another larger car park with several spaces. At the main road, ‘Str. la Pli’, we turn right and continue slightly downhill, passing the La Pli Apartments guesthouse (toilets – not accessible) and the Trattoria Alla Rosa Sotrù (toilets – not accessible). The route then continues on level ground past the fire station and bus stop, before heading uphill again for around 500 m with a constant gradient of 8–10%. After the junction (poor road surface), continue to the fountain in the village of Brach, where we take a short break before setting off on the return journey. The return route follows the same road for around 200 metres until you reach a small chapel on the left-hand side of the road. Here, we turn left onto a bumpy dirt track (approx. 400 metres – initially uphill with a 10% gradient and then downhill). Between the bushes and shrubs lining the path, a beautiful view of the valley and the mountains opens up. From the next junction, the road is tarmac again and runs past a housing estate and a playground to a T-junction, where we turn right and walk past the Osteria Gran Ciasa (toilets – not accessible) back to our starting point.
The playground is accessible without steps via a ramp from the primary school.
