In February 1912, Josef Janek took over the business, laying the foundation for a success story that continues to this day. From modest beginnings, the company developed over the years into a down-to-earth craft business that earned the trust of many customers. After Josef Janek, his daughter Maria Janek, married name Ladurner, continued to run the company with great joy, dedication and heart. As an independent businesswoman, she was valued far beyond the region for her integrity, professional competence and friendliness. With great skill and vision, she managed the business for many years and left a lasting mark on it.

Today, Janek 1912 Glasart is run by the fourth generation of the family, Annelies and Wolfram, together with their daughter Alexandra. They combine tradition with contemporary thinking and unite craftsmanship with innovation.

For over 100 years, the family business has been working not only with glass, but also with picture frames. Our shop in the old town is a special place where all these values can be felt. We present our products in a lovingly designed setting amidst historic alleyways. Here we sell our glass creations, frames and jewellery with heart and soul. The old town shop is more than just a salesroom – it is a place for meeting, exchange and inspiration. Glasses are also custom-made in the in-house workshop. Whether glass or mirrors – they are provided with drill holes, cut-outs or edge grinding in any shape. For many years, a wide variety of glass techniques have been combined to achieve extraordinary results.
