Fuchs Chapel
The Fuchskapelle is a unique place in Carinthia. Why? Of course, there are many places where one can discover small historical and cultural gems. But this chapel, within its barely 20 square metres — the former southern sacristy of the Parish Church of St Egid — holds something extraordinary. Ernst Fuchs, a brilliant painter, considered the last great Catholic painter of the second half of the twentieth century, worked here for twenty years. And it was right here that he created one of the most important works of his long career. Unique in its kind: a representation of the Apocalypse in the style of Fantastic Realism.
